About Skyway
Skyway Air Taxi is a certificated Part 135 Air Carrier, licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration to provide commercial air service within the Continental United States. Skyway is the first Virginia-based next-generation air taxi service and was founded on the guiding principals of Safety and Customer Service.
Pavel Pekarsky, Chief Pilot
Mr. Pavel Pekarsky is a licensed Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) and Flight Instructor who is endorsed through the Cirrus Standardized Instructor Program (CSIP). As a recognized expert in Cirrus aircraft, Mr. Pekarsky is responsible for the training and supervision of Skyway pilots.
Prior to Skyway, Mr. Pekarsky managed a corporate flight department where he was responsible for aircraft management, operations, flight scheduling, and maintenance. Mr. Pekarsky provides mentoring and advanced avionics training to Cirrus SR-22 owner-operators.
In addition to his accomplishments in aviation, Pavel is a violinist for the National Symphony Orchestra.
Gene Couvillion, Director of Operations
Mr. Gene Couvillion is a licensed Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) with 37 years of experience in air carrier operations. Mr. Couvillion holds type ratings in the Boeing 727, 737, 757, 767, 777, and 747 aircraft and has amassed over 21,000 hours of airline flight experience. Mr. Couvillion served as Captain for a major airline for 18 years, ten of which he served as Line Check Airman overseeing and certifying the safe operation of other airline pilots.
Mr. Couvillion served on Air Line Pilot’s Association (ALPA) committees for crew scheduling, professional standards, flight safety and Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA). In 2002 Mr. Couvillion was the recipient of the ALPA Presidential Citation for Outstanding Service. Mr. Couvillion volunteers his time as a docent at the National Air & Space Museum (NASM) Udvar-Hazy Center at Dulles Airport.
